Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program
YHDP is a project of the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Beginning in 2016, six rounds of communities have been selected to participate. Tulsa County was one of 17 communities selected in 2022, and awarded $5.38 million to apply toward its goal of preventing and ultimately ending youth homelessness. Let’s go, Tulsa!
⇒ Build an empowered, sustainable Youth Action Board (YAB) of youth and young adults to steer YHDP process
⇒ Strengthen and forge partnerships in Tulsa County with entities who serve youth experiencing homelessness
⇒ Develop a Coordinated Community Plan (CCP) which lays out comprehensive solutions to youth homelessness
⇒ Fund program proposals that advance YHDP’s goals
