Recent research has shown that nationally, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive persons in the U.S. continue to experience disproportionate levels of violence, harassment, and discrimination in attempting to access programs, benefits, services, and accommodations. The A Way Home for Tulsa provider community has a commitment to equal and safe access for LGBTQIA+ individuals at all points of the homeless housing and service system. This training is designed to support providers in ensuring that all individuals have access to their programs. Please join Homebase for an overview of HUD’s Equal Access Rule and best practices for discussing gender identity and sexual orientation with clients and ensuring that all individuals seeking housing and services feel welcome, safe, supported, and respected.
