Landlord Tenant Resource Center
Guidance and Support for Landlords and Tenants
At the Tulsa Landlord Tenant Resource Center, we empower both landlords and tenants with the tools they need for successful and equitable housing relationships. Our services include providing up-to-date eviction information, facilitating access to pro bono legal resources, and offering essential know-your-rights education. We also connect individuals with housing-supportive services, ensuring that all parties have the support they need to make homelessness in Tulsa rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Eviction Information for Tenants
You received an eviction notice and a summons with a hearing date and time. Now what?
Here’s what can happen if you do or do not go to your eviction hearing.
- If you DO go to your hearing…
- ⇒ You may be able to get free legal assistance.
- ⇒ Your lawyer may be able to identify legal defenses that can stop or delay the eviction.
- ⇒ You may get more time to move out.
- ⇒ At your hearing the judge may order you to pay money to your landlord. If you attend your hearing, you may be able to have the amount lowered.
- If you DO NOT go to your hearing…
- ⇒ No one can challenge the landlord’s version of events.
- ⇒ The judge will issue a “default” eviction judgment against you and the landlord can remove you from your home 48 hours after the hearing.
- ⇒ The judge may order you to pay money to your landlord, which can result in wage garnishment.
- ⇒ You will have an eviction judgment on your record, which will stay with you and make it harder to obtain future housing.
